Oberlin Spring Guitar Ensemble Concert
The students of the Oberlin guitar studio played chamber music last week on the Kulas Recital Hall stage, demonstrating some of their work for this semester's Guitar Ensemble classes. The program was interesting and varied, and was played with true musicianship and professional acumen. Here are some photos; the program follows.
Leonard Ranallo and Erica Zheng played selections from Ned Rorem's Romeo and Juliet:
Collin Sterne accompanied Abigail-Hakel Garcia in a group of Dowland Ayres:
Katie Kim and Brian King played Tedesco's Sonatina Op. 205:
Karisma Palmore and Mohit Dubey closed the program with Shankar's L'Aube Enchantée:
(Rebecca Klein was to play Ourkouzounov's Sonata for violin and guitar with Kah Yan Lee but had to cancel because of an injury. They had performed it earlier in the semester, as feature guest performers at the Columbus Guitar Festival at Otterbein University).
