University of Akron Guitar Ensemble Concert 11/13/14

We had our Guitar Ensemble concert at The University of Akron this week. The program was varied as usual and the audience responded warmly. Bravo to all who participated!

Philip Logan, accompanied  by Jin Yu, piano, opened with the first movement of Giuliani's

Concerto, Op. 30

Next up was Thomas Guarino accompanying soprano Vandi Terrill on the famous

Bachianas Brasilieras

of Villa-Lobos and three of the Garcia-Lorca songs

Then violinist, Rebecca Hall, and Daniel Silverman played three of the Jorge Liderman

Aires de Seferad

Four of the marvelous Laurindo Almeida arrangements of Brazilian traditional songs followed, as interpreted by soprano Kim Brenstuhl and Tyler Spuzillo:

Next, delightful version of the Giuliani's

Serenade, Op. 127

, arranged for clarinet and guitar, and played by Willow DiGiacomo and Adam Keeler:
