Mohit Dubey's Freshman Recital

Mohit, Dubey, Oberlin Conservatory freshman, played his first full solo recital there on Saturday, May 9 in Fairchild Chapel. He programmed a terrific balance of music, including the sublime Cello Suite III of Bach, two short pieces by Castelnuovo-Tedesco, three of Mertz's short works from Bardenklänge, Smith-Brindle's Polifemo de Oro and an arrangement he made for three guitars of music from Ghana, assisted by Jacob Blizard and Leonard Renallo. He played passionately and sensitively, with a broad dynamic range and lovely tone. It was an auspicious start! Here are some more images of him in action:
