Philip Logan plays for David Russell

University of Akron MM candidate, Philip Logan, performed in the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society-sponsored David Russell masterclass last night. It was held at the Cleveland Music School Settlement, and was attended by at least 50 auditors.

Logan played Barrios' Vals Op. 8, No. 3.
Russell's attention was mostly on Phil's interpretation, as he tried to coax out of him various contrasting approaches to each phrase. Russell was animated, engaging and pithy as always, offering numerous nuggets on practicing, interpreting and performing.

Nice work, Phil!!
