Benjamin Verdery at Oberlin

Ben made a visit last week to Oberlin Conservatory for a concert and master class. This is a return visit--he's been my guest here at least five times!
He played three instruments: a standard classical guitar

a BARITONE guitar

and an electric guitar (this one borrowed from my student, Jacob Blizard, with an amp borrowed from Lenny Renallo:

The concert was well-attended and a huge hit. His program was (obviously) eclectic, including something for everyone. Here it is:

During the master class, with characteristic high energy and positive engagement with each student, Ben taught lessons to

Sarah Boyson (Brouwer Sonata, 1st movement)
Jacob Blizard (Bach Lute Suite II, Prelude)
Rebecca Klein (Villa-Lobos Prelude II)
Max Lyman (Berkeley Sonata (1st movement)
Lenny Renallo (Bach Cello Suite VI, Prelude).

Ben, thanks for another great residency!!
