James Marron Master Class

James Marron is Classical Guitar Teacher at The University of Akron. He has been the Guitar Department Head and sole classical guitar teacher since my retirement there in 2015. Prior to that, he was a member of the guitar faculty along with me, at U Akron since 1991, when he finished his MM there. He has recorded, toured, composed and published, and taught for many years from his perch in Akron, Ohio, and he has been a close friend to me for over 30 years. So, it was my great pleasure to bring him over to Oberlin for a meeting with some of my students. Four students played for him, and we were treated to discussions about technique and practicing, warming up, tone production, interpretation, balance and many other related subjects of interest to us all.
